A View Beyond is a contemplative documentary that explores the deeper roots of the Yoga tradition, beyond its modern image, as a path to guide us inward, offering clarity, stillness, and reconnection in a world defined by noise and speed. In an era of rising mental health struggles and constant stimulation, the film sheds light on the exploration of our inner world—and how ancient traditions like Yoga still hold that potential.

Filmmakers Gijs de Ranitz and Djoa Lekatompessy journey through India, Nepal, and Europe to meet teachers, practitioners, and mental health professionals who speak to Yoga’s deeper roots and the inner transformation it invites. Alongside their own search, they explore how the spiritual essence of Yoga has often been lost or distorted in the West, reduced to posture and performance.

Through honest conversations, personal reflections, and immersive imagery, A View Beyond offers more than a cultural or historical lens—it invites viewers to consider the role of inner work in a time of widespread disconnection.
